This blog started as a year long project to post a photo taken in the Aberdeenshire village of Johnshaven every day for a year.
Having completed all 366 postings, I'm going to keep adding the occasional photo. All comments are very welcome. If you see anything on here that is factually inaccurate, please feel free to put me right!

350. A splash of yellow
Beautiful daffies at the harbour, planted in an old boat...
...and by zooming out you can see the washing lines I mentioned the other day.
After a recent visit to Johnshaven and coming across your website I would like to comment on your page, Johnshaven is a lovely little fishing and only ruined by the vast amount of dog shit which is lying everywhere, what sort of people are these dog owners who are very lucky to be living in such a lovely place and walk on without picking up the shit after their dog, on the inner harbour along the back wall it looks like someone has taken their pet camel along there to do it's business. If I ever return I will make sure I have a camera with me and capture the guilty and will have no second thoughts about passing on the information to the proper athorities and forward the pics for you to post.
Seems a shame to foul these wonderful pages with such mess. Let's keep at least this page clean and happy, Anonymous! A name would've been really brave. Signed Frances Johnson
Love the colourful photos of the daffodils against the background of the sea. Just a fraction of the many beautiful sights of Johnshaven you have treated us to during the year Ali x

ReplyDeleteThis really isn't the place to complain about dog mess - it's just a year long photography project by little old me!
DeleteThe Community Council have put posters up about this problem, which does appear to have got worse recently.
It only takes one selfish dog owner who regularly allows their pet to foul the pavements for it to become a major issue.
I suggest you take up your concerns with Aberdeenshire Council, but I don't know what can be done unless someone is caught in the act.
