This blog started as a year long project to post a photo taken in the Aberdeenshire village of Johnshaven every day for a year. Having completed all 366 postings, I'm going to keep adding the occasional photo. All comments are very welcome. If you see anything on here that is factually inaccurate, please feel free to put me right!

346. The future of St David's Chapel
Shortly before I started this blog, the former St David's Chapel (more commonly known in recent years as 'Richard's Shed'!) was destroyed in a devastating fire. I wrote a little about it on my other blog at the time and this newspaper article tells something of its history. This is how it looks today with all the charred debris having been cleared.
A planning application has now been submitted for a workshop with living accommodation above. This unique building in the heart of the village will be subject to very strict conservation regulations, particularly in regard to retaining the gable end with its bell tower. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this piece of village history.
