366. Leap year bonus!

It's a beautiful morning here today so I nipped out to take some piccies of the harbour.  Here's a bumper crop for the final post :)

Thank you very much to everyone who has followed the blog, especially to those who have commented either on here or on Facebook.  I have a bit too much going on in my world to commit to another project just now, but I hope to add photos to this blog whenever I spot something interesting going on!

  1. Thank you so much Kate for such an amazing snapshot of your home town, surrounding fields, and vast seascapes over the past year (and a bit!)
Like you I was sure we'd see some snowy scottish scenes but this was an unusual year weather wise!!
I have loved all the changing views and the life of the community over the year. It must have been a mammoth task to upload everyday..and you deserve a good rest!
I have found as I walk or travel around my own location that I look at things with a new perspective or a thought of how I'd write about a certain view - so thanks for promoting such a positive outlook! I also imagine you strolling along the dramatic coastline with your camera, struggling through undergrowth and nettles to reach hiding beauty or sticking your camera out of the window to capture that once in a blue moon moment!
Its been an absolute pleasure to share your year - I will miss my daily dose of calming visuals but I can always revisit the favourites!
Thanks again and enjoy your break from daily posting!

    1. Thanks so much Ali. This comment brought a tear to my eye!
You have been so supportive right from the start, commenting regularly and making me smile with your witty puns, I really do appreciate your input!
I know we've never met and you've never been to Johnshaven, but I hope that at least one of those 'nevers' will be rectified one day!
Maybe it's time someone did a Brummie photo-day - I know just the person...

  2. Thanks Kate, for showing us so many views of Johnshaven. I've enjoyed having a look at the village from so many different angles. It's been a big effort on your part, but I think it worthwhile and will come back sometime to look at the first pictures.

    All the best.

  5. I enjoy this site very much! My ancestors are the McBay's....Jesse McBay, born in 1815 in Johnshaven. She married David Valentine...Valentine married Clark, Clark married Anderson. My grandmother, Alice Anderson, was born in Dundee in 1893. It is my dream to come visit Johnshaven one day.

  6. I stumbled upon this site by accident, and am so glad I did. I grew up in the village, leaving around 20 years ago to go and stay in the big city. I never realised how much I missed it until I saw your photos. They brought back so many happy memories, and quite a few happy tears :o) Thank you so much. xx
