This blog started as a year long project to post a photo taken in the Aberdeenshire village of Johnshaven every day for a year. Having completed all 366 postings, I'm going to keep adding the occasional photo. All comments are very welcome. If you see anything on here that is factually inaccurate, please feel free to put me right!

83. Mater
This is the fabulous Tow-Mater, built by a group of 12 children from the Primary School under the supervision of some very dedicated dads. The photo above was taken in Johnshaven (in Kevin's garage to be precise!) and the ones below were taken yesterday at the Grampian Transport Museum at Alford.
Teams of car builders from schools all over Scotland came together on the worst weather day we've had for weeks to race their cars. In torrential rain they competed in slalom and drag races, ending with a circuit racing tournament.
No prizes for us this year, but lots of fun was had by all, despite the weather. Mater was by far the most impressive looking car and the team should be very proud of their efforts.
