288. Solitary gull
I believe there are several different species in and around Johnshaven that come under the name 'gull', but I'm not very good at naming them.
On Wikipedia I found more than 50 species listed, although obviously not all native to NE Scotland.
I'm always amazed by how many have made the urban locality their home...we have a large squawk of them here...but its only when the sound of their call is heard in conjunction with the salty scent of the sea air that I think they are real gulls! Ali
