This blog started as a year long project to post a photo taken in the Aberdeenshire village of Johnshaven every day for a year.
Having completed all 366 postings, I'm going to keep adding the occasional photo. All comments are very welcome. If you see anything on here that is factually inaccurate, please feel free to put me right!

269. The Old Mill
This is a bit of a sorry sight nowadays, but was once a thriving flax mill providing employment for lots of people. I believe it was closed in the 1930s.
The mill was working as a jute mill after the 2nd world war owned by a Mr Burness and after that as a paper mill owned by Middleton's of Aberdeen into the 1950's, after that a Chicken concern took it over, after that I don't know. Clark Simpson would probably Mr Burness's son - in - law John Wrightson who played centre forward for the Dauntless in their good old days.
My Mum used to work in the flax mill in Jonnar
